Don Brummett

Don Brummett

Playing mandolin for the band, Don has been playing music for over six decades in the southern Indiana area. He got his first instrument in 1936, started playing bluegrass in 1955 and moved to country music for in 1963, playing country for forty years, fronting his own band and playing with groups like the Starlighters and Les Grissom.

Don started moving back to bluegrass in 2002 and 2003. He's an excellent mandolin player, guitarist, and has been known to play some banjo, too.

Retired, he's married to Dee and they have two children, Jeff, a talented country musician playing in the southern Indiana area, and Kim, a very talented singer, married to Butch Robins.


John Fulks

John Fulks

The newest member of our band, John comes from New Jersey and is currently enrolled as a graduate student at Indiana University.


Jim Rollins

Jim Rollins

Jim is the band's fiddler and also sings lead and harmony vocals.

Jim has been playing fiddle for over 35 years, both country and bluegrass. He also appears with our good friends Lowell and Brenda Flynn, the Evening Light Gospel Singers. He is a farmer and school bus driver in Greene County. He's married to Pat and they have two grown children.


Ron Shields

Ron Shields

Playing banjo is Unionville Indiana native, Ron Shields. Ron has been playing bluegrass music for over 29 years, playing the banjo, the guitar and the Dobro as well as singing lead and harmony vocals.

Ron is employed by Indiana University. He's married to Patty and they have two children.


Larry Stephens

Larry Stephens

The bass player is Larry Stephens. He also sings lead vocals.

Larry has began playing country music in the 60's with his father in the Starlighters, appearing in many places in southern and central Indiana. In the late 90's he appeared for several years with a gospel group, the Richardson Family Singers. For the past several years he has been very involved in bluegrass music.

A native of Unionville, Larry is married to Sherry (who often runs sound for the band) and they have five children: Twyla, a nurse; Chad, a mechanic for heavy trucks who operates his own road service business; Kevin, who directs a musical troupe for challenged adults; Jared, their family's own special member who lives at home; and Justin, employed at Indiana University in the computer area. Both Kevin and Justin are talented musicians, also.
